These are great activities for children working at Pre-Key Stage. Sometimes children with learning difficulties find the whole phonics system too difficult to process. They find looking at letter shapes and words as a whole a much easier way to learn to read and spell. When incorporating this with illustrations and images, it also allows them to make the connection between the word and its meaning. These letter to letter match activities support and compliment the other activities extremely well and are great for children with Special Educational Needs who are working at the original -Plevels. This works really well alongside the Handa Surprise story by Eileen Browne.
