The Year 2 assessments are now over and done with. The end of Key Stage 1 and the beginning of Key Stage 2. With the move to 'juniors' also comes a greater need for independence.
As part of the KS2 English curriculum children will move away from Phonics and be taught spelling patterns, also paying more attention to adding a suffix or prefix to root words.
In writing there will be more focus on using creative language and techniques to enhance their writing styles.
