Phonics Phase 5

Phonics Phase 5 Year 1 KS1, introduces children to more sounds including those with alternative pronunciations and spelling patterns. Split digraph reading strategies are taught throughout Phase 5. Children will be taught to segment and blend a wider range of vocabulary to support reading and writing. Many printable Phase 5 resources and fun learning activities are available to download and print to support early reading and spelling. The teaching of the Phonics phases begins in EYFS and continues throughout KS1 in Year 1 and Year 2.
