Year 1 Problem Solving

Year 1 Problem Solving resources provide a range of activities to support children in developing reasoning and thinking skills in mathematical concepts. Children are encouraged to think creatively to investigate ways of solving maths problems. All activities are in line with the 2014 curriculum and are created by highly experienced teachers, with the child firmly at the centre. Some activities have a child-friendly, engaging PowerPoint presentation to stimulate the learning and provide a setting and context for the problem. The problems can then be solved in groups or independently by downloading the relevant activty sheets.
